Self-consumption is entering a new era. At industrial and commercial sites, solar power is no longer viewed in isolation: it is now integrated with battery storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI), and increasingly sophisticated energy management tools. The goal is no longer simply to generate carbon-free electricity, but to optimize its consumption, reduce dependence on the grid, and sustainably control costs.
While the business models are becoming increasingly attractive, their profitability remains closely tied to the site’s consumption profile, the sizing of the installations, mechanisms for monetizing the electricity generated, and a regulatory framework that can sometimes be complex.
Drawing on real-world experience, this roundtable will analyze the conditions for the success of these projects, the benefits already observed in the field, and the levers that will accelerate the deployment of this integrated energy model to enhance business competitiveness.
