The objectives of the Employment and Training Pavilion
The immense skills challenge—with 350,000 jobs expected in decarbonized energy by 2030, and given the strong tensions currently affecting the job market—the pavilion stands out as an essential connection hub.
Stakeholders: engineering schools and higher education institutions, vocational training centers and apprenticeship training centers, as well as organizations specializing in career transitions.
Employment in France: distribution of direct jobs in renewable energy in 2024
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the number of jobs in the renewable energy sector worldwide “rose from 16.2 million in 2023 to 16.6 million in 2024.”
More than 7.3 million jobs worldwide are concentrated in solar photovoltaics, representing more than one-third of the workforce employed in renewable energy — making it the sector’s largest employer.
Women account for 32% of jobs in the renewable energy sector worldwide, a share that has remained stable since 2019 according to IRENA.
In France, employment in this sector is seeing growing demand for qualified professionals. Renewable energy industries represent 248,785 direct jobs in France in 2024, according to a study by the French Renewable Energy Association (SER).
Integrating environmental concerns into economic activity means transforming jobs, skills, and training. Anticipating these changes is a crucial challenge for the success of the energy transition.

France Travail will be present at the Employment and Training Pavilion, Hall B3, on December 9 and 10, 2026. Advisors will be available to support companies, discuss their needs, advise them on recruitment requirements and employee retention, assess their skills needs (in line with the training programs resulting from the PRIC, established by the Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée Regional Council), and introduce them to the Employer space.
