Wattway is a turnkey photovoltaic solution installed on your transport infrastructure, enabling you to generate your own renewable energy locally for on-site consumption. By making use of the available space across your car parks, pavements, cycle paths, forecourts and marine pontoons, you can increase your capacity for solar self-consumption. At Wattway, our mission is to support the energy transition by using existing paved surfaces to generate local, cost-competitive, low-carbon solar electricity, while preserving their original function and ensuring that our solutions blend seamlessly into their surroundings. For over 10 years, Wattway has developed unique expertise in traffic-bearing photovoltaic surfacing. This technology combines Colas’s expertise in road infrastructure with the photovoltaic expertise of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Now a mature technology, our solution is designed and manufactured in France and Europe and has already been deployed at more than 150 sites worldwide.
