Agrivoltaics is one of the most hotly debated topics in the energy transition, encompassing the promise of supplemental income for farms, renewable energy production, adaptation to climate change, and the preservation of agricultural land. The era of concepts is now giving way to that of implementation, and the first projects are helping to identify what truly creates value for farmers, local communities, and the energy produced. What lessons can be drawn from initial feedback? What criteria distinguish a true agrivoltaic project from a simple solar power plant built on farmland? What models of governance, value sharing, and performance monitoring are emerging as the norm? The expansion of renewable energy is accompanied by growing demands for environmental monitoring. Bird surveys, bat monitoring, analysis of natural habitats, and assessment of the effectiveness of impact mitigation measures: the volume of data collected at wind and solar farms continues to grow. Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to process this data: automated analysis of images or acoustic data, processing of data streams from sensors, drones, or satellites, and detection of species or anomalies. The question remains: what do these tools actually offer to ecological monitoring professionals, and what are their current limitations? Is AI mature enough to transform ecological monitoring practices, or does it still serve only as an occasional supplement to on-the-ground expertise? How, in practical terms, does the work between ecologists and digital tools come together? A roundtable discussion moderated by Carole Rap, journalist
