SOPRASOLAR NATURE: SOPREMA'S NEW BIO-SOLAR SOLUTION COMBINING SOLAR ENERGY, GREEN ROOFING AND RAINWATER MANAGEMENT.

Description
Fulfilling new functions is the challenge facing roofs today in the face of climate, energy and regulatory challenges. In a context marked by a regulatory framework increasingly favourable to the combined development of green roofing and photovoltaics, Jean Damian, Director of Soprasolar, will present Soprasolar Nature, SOPREMA's new bio-solar solution. This innovative approach combines solar energy generation, green roofing and water management on a single roof. A genuinely virtuous system, bio-solar creates a synergy where each element benefits the other: vegetation improves the performance of photovoltaic panels while the panels promote the development of biodiversity. A practical solution for designing higher-performing, more energy-efficient buildings.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT OF FLOATING SOLAR POWER

Aurelien CROCQ
Description
Long limited to pilot projects of just a few megawatts, floating solar entered a new phase in 2025–2026 with the commissioning of the first large-scale plants in France, installed on hydroelectric reservoirs, former quarries, or industrial ponds. What about offshore floating solar? This growth is accompanied by ongoing innovations in floats and mooring systems, aimed at reducing costs and simplifying deployment logistics. But beyond the technical and industrial feats, what insights have emerged regarding actual operating and maintenance costs, local acceptance of these projects, and impacts on aquatic ecosystems? This session will revolve around a central question: Is floating solar a sector poised for long-term scaling up, or will it remain a solution limited to a few very specific cases? A roundtable discussion moderated by Aude Richard, journalist
